Gold Release of Lotus 8.5.1 IBM Lotus Notes / Domino 8.5.1 is a very significant release. There are many new capabilities and improvements, some of which are detailed below;
    • Lots of new features in the Lotus Notes client, including auto correct, vCards, preferences for unread mail, and many more - see announcement letter
    • Can access email via a wide range of browsers and mobile devices, such as Apple iPhone
    • Simplification of the licensing model, down to two Client Access Licenses (Messaging and Enterprise)
    • Domino Designer is now freely accessible in IBM Developerworks at no charge
    • Many improvements to Domino Designer, including new LotusScript and Java editors
